Jamee Photography & Brides Colorado Magazine

I had breakfast with a dear friend this morning, Jamee Pierzchala of Jamee Photography.  She had recently sent us some images from a wedding that we had worked together on in September of this past year.  I've been so anxious to post them, but just haven't had the time.  Life really does get in the way sometimes. I found some time this aftertoon and can't wait to share these images with you, along with the exciting news that they are going to be featured in the upcoming issue of Brides Colorado!

It had been awhile since we worked with Jamee and we definitely missed her.  As always, she did an amazing job capturing the day; I especially love, love, love the photos of Lindsey and Matt (Bride & Groom) in the field - absolutely stunning.  Thank you, Jamee, for sharing.  P.S. If you weren't having a baby this summer, I'd harass you about working together more this year!

Now a little about the wedding...

The ceremony took place at the base of Arrowhead Village and the reception was held at The Country Club of The Rockies, an absolutely beautiful venue; perfect for a wedding. Lindsey, Matt and their families were an absolute delight to work with from the beginning.  It was truly a joy to design for them.

Working alongside the family, planning every detail of this special day was Kathy Vaughn of A Beautiful Memory. It was our first time working with Kathy and things couldn't have gone smoother.  She is a true professional and one of the nicest people you could ever meet.  We sincerely hope to work with her again and again.

The Knot Real Weddings: Elisabeth & Ben

It's always exciting to pick up the latest industry magazines to see what's hot, new, trendy and beautiful.  As professionals in the wedding industry, we probably covet these magazines as much as our brides, if not more!  It's a guilty pleasure that we are conveniently able to justify (if only we could justify our love of US Weekly!).  What's most exciting about these publications is seeing if any of our work, clients or fellow wedding professionals have been published.  We are delighted to see and excited to let everyone know that the latest issue of The Knot Colorado has featured one of our weddings.  It was the beautiful winter wedding of Elisabeth and Ben (a lovely couple) and we had the pleasure of working once again with Keystone Ranch, Sapphire Celebrations and Jenna Walker Photographers.  It's always great to work with such wonderful clients and talented vendors - This was no exception.

Delight By Design

One of Elizabeth's closest childhood friends started a blog last June.  I was just recently introduced to it and feel the need to share!  It's name is very fitting, as it truly is a Delight.  It's a beautiful resource for all mediums of design and a new favorite stop of mine to gather inspirations and ideas, whether for home, work or just plain fun.  If you're a design junky, I'm sure you'll go back again and again.  Blair posts regularly so there's always something new to see.  She even recently posted some things on us! Be sure to check out Delight By Design - you won't be disappointed.  Below is a photo I found on her site that inspired me to paint my kitchen cabinets black!

A Complete Bust

Last week, a shipment that we had anxiously been awaiting for finally arrived.  It was delivered in a huge truck and when the driver arrived, he informed us that it was our job to get everything off his truck.  He had no lift, no dolly and 7 boxes weighing over 100 pounds for us to move.  Hmmmm.  This was going to be tricky.

The driver proceeded to move things to the back of the truck and in doing so, he noticed that 3 of the 7 boxes were damaged and the contents inside were "probably broken", he said.  At that point, we went inside to call the company that we ordered everything from to find out whether to ship everything back, unload what wasn't broken, or except all items (broken stuff included).  They told us to accept everything and file a claim for any damaged goods.  We told the driver what we needed to do and went inside to finish things up on the phone. When we came out, the driver had already unloaded all the boxes for us (nice, right?).  All 7 boxes were piled up, in the middle of the street, about 100 feet away from our front door.  Box after box, we found completely busted pieces of what we had ordered.  Only 2 sets (8 out of 28 pieces) were actually in tact.  The rest was completely busted and smashed to pieces.

As we moved from box to box, we couldn't help but laugh over the ridiculousness of the situation.  Some days are just better than others.  And most days...we feel we are Made For TV.  No matter how much drama, though, things always work out and we power through, together as a team - that was definitely the case as we (Elizabeth, Assal and myself) unloaded all the busted pieces from the boxes, hauled the boxes inside....and then loaded the scraps back into each box.

Below are a few photos from this comical adventure...

Giving Thanks

This Thanksgiving I have much to be thankful for - my family, my friends, great clients, a daughter that thinks I am the bestest mommy in the world (temporarily, at least, since I gave her an oreo cookie dipped in chocolate and plastered with sprinkles today...).  There is so much to be thankful for...even if I did bribe my way into one of those things.

As I'm sitting here writing this entry, I've just finished looking through some photos that Paige Eden (a favorite local photographer) had taken of Elizabeth and me a few months ago.  I'm just getting around to picking some for the website and as I'm "working", I'm reminded just how lucky and thankful I am.  Not everyone can say that they love their job or that they go to work everyday with one of their closest friends.  I can, though, and for that...I am truly thankful and very lucky.

Miss Elizabeth Somers Eberly (or ESE, as I so affectionately call her) is one of the best people you could have in your posse of peeps.  She's loyal, honest, caring, fashionable (very important), has great taste (equally as important), has a great sense of humor and even gets mine (most important).   She is our lead designer at Delilah's and is the ying to my yang - if ever she's stressed out, I'm almost always intuitively calm and vice-versa - it's really quite bizarre and very handy.

I am incredibly lucky to work next to someone everyday that shares my love of design and that inspires me to grow, to learn and to be the best that we are capable of.  Did I mention she gets my sense of humor?

So...on this Thanksgiving, I would like to give many thanks to the one, the only, the ever-so talented and oh-so amazing ESE.  This ride wouldn't be nearly as much fun without you.  Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving and Lots of Love, KShev.
